After graduating from the University of Oslo Dental School, Norway, in 1979 and acquiring a license from Baylor College of Dentistry in Texas, Dr. Gotun established his practice in Austin in 1985. He is currently in charge of designing new CE programs for dentists all over Texas.
Dr. Gotun has advanced training in Gnathology, Temporo-Mandibular Joint Therapy and Advanced Restorative Dentistry from Foundation For Advanced Continuing Education (F.A.C.E.) which allows him to provide his patients with unique techniques and approaches to resolve even the most complicated of the dental conditions.
Dr. Gotun has completed over 3000 hours of continued education and has been teaching among his peers for 20 years. He has been involved in development of new dental software for the US Army at UT in San Antonio and he has been teaching advanced reconstructive dentistry to dentists and dental labs.
Currently Dr. Gotun is Chair of Education Committee in the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. The committee's goal is to continuosly raise the standards for continued education for general dentists, and also provide the underserved areas of Texas with educational opportunities that will enable local dentists to serve their communities better.
Dr. Gotun has been involved in many charitable missions, dedicating his time and volunteering for various projects focused on providing Texas children with the dental care they need.
